Who We Are

"I started this organization because I believe you must bring your whole self to the table if you want to thrive in today’s crazy world; your personality, your sense of humor, and most importantly, your heart. All of these elements brought me to start Lillies Gem Foundation."

- Founder, Tamika Yeadon

The rapid shift to remote learning was a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and has created divisions in our society, including political, racial, and technological divides. Unfortunately, many children in remote learning have faced challenges, particularly with connecting to their teachers. As a non-profit organization, we are dedicated to supporting our communities and families by providing greater access to technology resources and tools needed to navigate this new societal landscape.

Our Mission & Vision

Liiles Gems Foundation is a new  grassroot  organization  currently seeking 501c(3) status.  We strive to provide innovative effective means to connect families, schools, and communities with access to technology tools and resources they need to adapt to the changing societal landscape by developing program initiatives and nurture collaborations by reaching the broader community who shares the passion to change community.  Our mission is to impact and empower households that are historically socioeconomically challenged to ensure they are not left behind.

Our Goals

  • Significantly impact families and communities by bridging the digital divide in local communities.

  • To foster new relationships with community leaders and partners, while also collaborating with them to create useful education and training opportunities.

  • Provide underserved families social support, and technical and soft-skills training needed to secure employment.

  • To be able to consistently offer computer hardware, software, and wi-fi services to underserving families and communities.

Tamika S. Yeadon

A Compassionate Community Servant Ready to Strengthen Our Communities

Hi Friends,

My name is Tamika Yeadon, and I am the Founder of new startup of Lilies Gems Foundation. Although I reside in Maryland, I am originally from Charleston, South Carolina and a proud mother of a college student studying at Morgan State University. I graduated from Burke High School in 1995 and pursued a Bachelors in Computer Science Information Systems Degree at Johnson C. Smith University. I hold a dual Masters in Business Administration and Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University. Over the years, I have gained 15+ years of experience managing construction built environments in the K-12 school market in both public and private sectors. Additionally, I have taught technology platforms as a part-time adjunct at Trident Technical College for a decade.

As the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris has recently stated, "the COVID pandemic has taught us that broadband is the new electricity, and partnerships are needed to help this connection in every home." I found this statement to be in line with the ultimate goal of Lilies Gem. We believe that every family should have access to appropriate technology resources and broadband internet in their household. Unfortunately, the United States Census Bureau's recent survey highlights that digital inequality is a direct result of socioeconomic differences in online resources. Therefore, my team and I will conduct our own surveys to identify the gaps and leverage our professional backgrounds and education to provide support initiatives to local communities in building skills and financial literacy platforms.

I strongly believe that our philanthropic efforts can make a significant impact in empowering and raising capital to assist local communities in closing the educational gap in underserved areas. As someone who grew up in an inner city, I know firsthand the challenges that my family and friends face due to the lack of appropriate technology. Infrastructure is the foundation to keep things moving, and we've learned that disparities exist not only in healthcare but also in technology. Our children and families should not be left behind in today's digital world. It's crucial to bring these tools to our communities. If you are interested in partnerships or making any contributions, please reach out to us via email to schedule a meeting.

In partnerships,

Tamika Yeadon
